Local Newspaper Highlights Catholic Charities Senior Citizens Initiatives

Catholic Charities Lends a Helping Hand to Local Seniors in Need

Lake City, Fla. – Throughout the month of February and March, Catholic Charities Lake City is reaching out and encouraging the community to make their mark by lending a helping hand to the local senior citizens of Columbia, Suwannee, Hamilton, Lafayette and Union Counties. During this time of the year, our organization receives a high rate of requests for items, such as throws and socks, to help keep seniors warm during the harsh winter months. For this reason, Catholic Charities would like to encourage donations for these items that will help “Bridge the Gap” in our community and be distributed to individuals and families in need during the month of March.

“By donating small throws and socks to a neighbor in need, you can help brighten their day and warm their heart,” said Catholic Charities Lake City Regional Director, Suzanne Edwards. “Please consider donating and dropping items off at our office during business hours or by going online, shopping for the items and having them directly shipped to our office. Every little donation counts and helps someone in need.”

All the items collected over the next few weeks will be distributed now through the month of March, which is also National Senior Nutrition Month, where other senior care initiatives are planned to happen. For more information or any media inquiries, please contact Suzanne Edwards at suzanne@catholiccharitieslakecity.org or by calling 386-754-9180.
